Multiplication Practice

As we continue to work on our multiplication unit, and get ready for the upcoming division unit, I thought I would share some websites that would be a great place to practice:

Multiplication.com

Gamequarium

Mr. Nussbaum

FunBrain Math Baseball

Math Playground

Keep working hard on those multiplication strategies!!

Curriculum Updates:

Reading:  This week we are continuing our study of drawing conclusions.  Students will be reading various texts and completing a graphic organizer to help them draw conclusions about the texts they read.  They will need to think about the clues from the story and pair that with their own knowledge in order to help them draw conclusions.  We will continue some word work with prefixes, suffixes, homonyms, and multi-meaning words.

Math: The students took their first quiz for Chapter 2, multiplying numbers.  It covered mental math strategies, estimating products, and multiplying by 1 digit numbers.  Next up is multiplying by 2 digit numbers.  This is one of our target skills for the chapter, so students will be spending a couple days making sure they have mastered the skill.  The Chapter 2 test will happen sometime late next week.
