Curriculum Updates:
Reading: Our next set of skills that we will be working on focuses on main ideas and details. Students will learn how details must support or prove the main idea of a passage. They will also be able to find details in a non-fiction text that support a particular main idea, as well as determine the main idea of a text when given the details. In addition, students will learn that main ideas can be stated in the text, or sometimes unstated (implied).
Math: We will begin our next unit, which focuses on area and volume. This week, students will be exploring how to find the area of polygons such as rectangles, squares, triangles, and parallelograms.
