Newsletter 10/10-10/14

Here's What's Happening...

English/Language Arts: We got to start vocabulary for our next text, "Wheelchair Sports."  We will circle back to working with Central Idea, as well as continuing work with text structure.

Science: We will press pause on Science this week to focus on Social Studies!

Social Studies: We will wrap up our study of Christopher Columbus.  Students will be exposed to multiple texts about his voyages and will utilize the information they find in order to answer the question: Should Columbus be viewed as a hero or a villain?

Advanced Math:  We will continue to work on ratios - focusing on different ways to describe ratios as well as learning about equivalent ratios.

Important Info:

Prep for Halloween!

We are excited to be celebrating Halloween with our traditional classroom parties and our Halloween costume parade.  Here are some important reminders in order to prepare for these events!

Students will change into their costumes in the afternoon.  This means that they need to be able to put their costume on without help.  They will not have access to a bathroom to change, so they should be able to easily change into their costume with the clothes they wear to school that day.  Makeup should be kept to a minimum as well.  Please remember that no weapons of any kind are allowed.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out!

 Photo Corner!
