Newsletter 11/7-11/11

Here's What's Happening...

English/Language Arts: We will spend the week focused on writing our informational essay on an inventor and the challenges they had to overcome in designing their invention.

Science: We will spend the week focusing on Social Studies.

Social Studies: We will continue learning about life in New Spain, focusing on the levels of society in New Spain, the changes brought upon the natives in the area, and the development of slavery in the Americas. Students will take a checkpoint on this lesson at the end of the week.

Advanced Math:    We have a short Math week, so we will work on applying our understanding of ratio tables to ratios involving large quantities and solving multistep ratio problems.

Important Info:

CAP Presentations this week!

This week, our students will take part in a presentation regarding child abuse prevention. Individuals from the YWCA come to our classroom and discuss a variety of scenarios that students might encounter and how they can safely respond or handle such situations. This program is very well done and helps students identify people in their lives who are "go to" people.

Rescheduled Conferences!
For those families who need to reschedule conferences, I sent out a new Sign Up Genius on Friday.  Please reach out if the times do not work for you and we can find a different time to meet!
