English/Language Arts: We will start our week by giving students the opportunity to share their highlights of winter break by completing a Winter Break Newsletter slide presentation. Then, students will review our Unit 1 skills with their Lit Circle groups by working together on a reading skills project. We will also review Word Work Lists 1-5 this week.
Social Studies: Students will do a quick analysis of their Chapter 5 test and then complete an anticipation guide for Chapter 6!
Advanced Math: Students will enjoy a breakout activity to review our first three topics on Monday. Then, we will spend the week covering some important pre-requisite skills for Topic 5, which focuses on multiplying fractions and mixed numbers. This week, we will cover putting fractions in simplest form, as well as converting between improper fractions and mixed numbers. Students should expect a graded assignment on Friday to show what they have learned.

Permission and Pick Up
Two important items this week...
1) There is a supply pick up this week on Thursday, January 7th, from 8:00am -3:30pm. These supplies contain important materials needed until we hopefully resume our in-person hybrid learning. If you can't pick up materials at that time, please contact me so we can arrange for an alternate pick up.
2) Our class earned a classroom reward as we entered winter break. We will be watching a movie as a class later this week. Students will vote on the movie Monday, and then I will send out a permission form to be completed after that. Please be on the lookout for it so you can complete it!
