Here's What's Happening...
English/Language Arts: Students will wrap up their Natural Disasters project this week! They will write Article 3 early this week, then have the chance to share it with a partner for feedback. We will do mini lessons on writing quotes correctly, adding pictures & captions, and using the COPS strategy to proofread and edit. Students will have a chance to peer edit their full projects, and the final product will be due on Friday, when they will have the opportunity to celebrate each other's hard work. Students will also have some review activities for Word Work List 8, with the quiz for this lesson on Thursday.
Social Studies: With the goofy week of technology glitches, we didn't get to learn about the Stamp Act last week. So, this week, we will dive into Chapter 8, Lesson 1, which covers both the Stamp Act and the Townshend Acts. Students will read and focus on answering our Key 4 questions for these sections. Then, they will complete a sequence activity in partners to show how one event leads to the next. We wrap up with a Checkpoint assignment that will be completed for homework.
Advanced Math: We will wrap up Topic 8 this week. On Monday, we will tackle the problem solving lessons where students apply the concepts learned to solving a variety of real world problems. They will have the opportunity to review Lessons 4-6 on Tuesday and will complete the Topic 8, L. 4-6 Homework Review that day for homework. Then we will review the entire topic to prepare for the Topic 8 test on Friday!
