Newsletter 2/21-2/25

Here's What's Happening...

English/Language Arts: We will be taking a look at how we can make inferences by using maps.  Students will then put this skill to work by finding ways to use maps to add details to their natural disaster information writing flash draft that they worked on last week.  In addition, they will learn about how asking questions can lead them to adding more information and detail in their writing.  Students will also work on the Word Work List 8 slides this week.

Science: We will wrap up Chapter 1 of this unit by making some suggestions for a restoration plan to help revive the Costa Rican rain forest project area.

Social Studies: Our goal this week will be to finish our colony brochure project!

Advanced Math:  We will finish up the first section of Unit 5, focusing on adding and subtracting decimals.  Students will take a homework review on this material on Friday.
