Here's What's Happening...
English/Language Arts: We will be wrapping up our work on central idea and text structure this week with "Wheelchair Sports." We will then take some time to work on grammar skills and writing.
Social Studies: We will begin taking a look at how Spain continued their conquest of the Americas by learning about Cortes and the Aztecs and Pizzaro and the Incas.
Advanced Math: We continue our work with ratios this week. Students will learn about how to use double number lines to help create equivalent ratios. They will take a Checkpoint over lessons 1-5 on Wednesday. Then, we will take a look at Unit Prices and do some work with our Number Corner calendar!

Special School Board Town Hall Meeting!
As you probably know, our district is hoping to pass a referendum this November to help bring much needed funds to our district. There is a special board meeting this Tuesday evening from 6-8pm, which will be held in a town hall style. Unlike a typical board meeting, this board meeting will allow for dialogue between our community and the board of education. This event will be moderated by our Community Engagement Forum, which is made up of community members with varying positions on the referendum. Please spread the word about this special event in order to ensure our whole community is aware of this opportunity to ask questions and gather further information!
