Newsletter 5/23-5/27

Here's What's Happening...

English/Language Arts: We will celebrate our finished products for our magazine project, read a story about Paul Revere, and do the sort and definitions for List 12 word work.

Science: This week, students will finish reading some case studies to evaluate the important role nutrients play in restoration plans.  They will also critique a scientific argument, which will help prepare them for writing their own scientific argument on Tuesday.

Social Studies: We continue with the second lesson in Chapter 8, which focuses on the Boston Massacre, the Boston Tea Party, and the Intolerable Acts.  We will focus on taking Sequence Chain notes again.  We will wrap up the week by reading the third lesson in Chapter 8, which talks about the start of the American Revolution!

Advanced Math:  We will spend our last week together by taking a look at positive and negative numbers, knowing how to plot them on a number line, understanding how to compare and order them, and learn about absolute value.
