Here's What's Happening...
English/Language Arts: Students will revise their second article and begin their third article this week. They also will complete the Word Work List 11 slides.
Social Studies: We will have some fun with an activity called The King's M&Ms to simulate the taxation that was happening in the colonies. Students will also work on sequence chain notes for the first lesson, and will take a graded assignment on the first lesson on Wednesday or Thursday.
Advanced Math: Students will evaluate algebraic expressions that include exponents, taking care to follow the order of operations. They will have a graded homework review to complete for homework on Monday. Then we move into the final section of this unit, where students learn about different ways of representing relationships, such as using tables, equations, and graphs.

MAP Tests this week!
Our spring MAP testing window has arrived! Students will be taking the Reading MAP test on Tuesday afternoon, and the Math MAP test on Wednesday during Math class. As always, please encourage your child to do their very best, get a good night's rest, and eat a good breakfast/lunch on testing days.
TGFD Information!
This week is the last week of TGFD! Students received their final assignment this past week, which is a four paragraph essay, which is written as a letter to their family. This final assignment is due on Thursday, May 12th.
Students also should have brought home a paper invitation to the Too Good for Drugs Graduation Ceremony. This ceremony is taking place on Thursday, May 19th at 1pm in the Prairieview Gym. Please make plans to join us that day if you can!
