Here's What's Happening...

English/Language Arts: We will work on our next text, "The Secret Garden."  In this text, we will focus on the skill of visualizing and continue practicing with literary elements.  Students will complete the selection quiz for this text on Wednesday.

Science: We are going to wrap up Chapter 2 this week.  Students will use a case study to practice finding both data evidence and evidence from science ideas in order to support a claim.  Then they will write a Scientific Argument for the question: Why aren't the cecropia trees growing and thriving?

Social Studies: We will wrap up the first lesson of Chapter 5, focusing on learning about Jamestown.  

Advanced Math:   We will spend time on Monday reviewing the first seven lessons of Unit 3 in preparation for a quiz on Tuesday.  We will wrap up the week by completing error analysis, some Number Corner activities, and some holiday season Math activities.

Winter Spirit Week!

It's SO hard to believe that we are down to the last five days before winter break!  To celebrate, Prairiview is having a spirit week.  Here is the schedule!

Monday, December 12th: Attitude of Gratitude Day!  We will take some time show appreciation for people and things in our life.

Tuesday, December 13th: Beat the chill by wearing your favorite Hawaiian/Tropical shirt!

Wednesday, December 14th: Winter hat/flannel shirt day

Thursday, December 15th: Ugly Sweater Day

Friday, December 16th: Cozy up to winter with PJs & Slippers
