Here's What's Happening...
English/Language Arts: We will continue our work with "Quaking Earth, Racing Waves." We will be discussing the numbers and stats they found that helped them understand the text better. We will also work on multiple meaning words, and review author's craft and central idea. Students will take the selection quiz on this text at the end of the week.
Social Studies: Students will work on their colony project this week.
Advanced Math: We wrap up adding and subtracting decimals on Monday, with students taking a quiz on Tuesday. We will move on to multiplication of decimals on Wednesday and Thursday. Students will learn about how to transform decimals into fractions to multiply decimals, as well as utilizing an area model to multiply decimals.

TGFD Week 3
In week 3, students learned about emotions and the physical responses that different emotions can elicit. Homework this week is to match a variety of emotions to the physical responses you experience. Both you and your learner should do this, as it is a great opportunity to discuss the differences that individuals may have in the way they respond to different emotions. You will also discuss and select some strategies to use to manage difficult emotions. Please remember to sign and return the homework page by Thursday!
